Forty authors participate in the first volume of the collection "Bulgaria and Macedonia, History and Politics". With scientific facts, the first volume of the book traces the Middle Ages, the Ottoman period, the struggle for the rights and freedoms of the population in Macedonia and the emergence of the Macedonian language. "The second volume is dedicated to the painful processes after the Balkan Wars (1912-1913), when a huge part of the Bulgarian people remained outside the boundaries of free Bulgaria," the co-author and compiler of the two volumes Prof. Daniel Vatchkov, director of the Institute for historical research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, told BGNES.

Prof. Vachkov points out that such a book is translated into English for the first time. "This is a very important gesture to our compatriots in the USA, Australia, Canada, who continue to protect their Bulgarian origins," the scientist says. Thanks to the National Library "Sts. Cyril and Methodius" the book is distributed worldwide. It was translated by David Mossop in close cooperation with the editor Adriana Momchilova. Mossop received the Grand Prix of the Union of Translators for his work in 2023.
