Local elections are held in several places in Bulgaria

Local elections for mayors and municipal councilors are being held today in several villages in Bulgaria in the municipalities of Haskovo, Blagoevgrad, Kyustendil, Suhindol, Pernik, etc. In the village of Batoshevo near Sevlievo, a mayor is being elected after the vote from last year's regular elections was declared invalid by the Supreme Administrative Court. There, the election of the GERB candidate was contested by the PP-DB coalition on the grounds that the result would have been different if voters from the constituent villages of Batoshevo had been admitted to the polls, BNR-Horizont reports. In the village of Byala Reka near Suhindol, a mayor is being elected with a single candidate, after Madlena Rusanova, who won the elections in 2023, retired, "Focus" reports.
