On June 29, on the occasion of the National Road Safety Day, the State Agency for Road Safety is organising a festival from 11 am to 2 pm at the Knyaz Alexander I Battenberg Square in the capital in front of the Art Gallery. Its aim is to draw attention to prevention and the responsibility of every road user.

87 people have been killed and 1,821 injured in road accidents since the beginning of the year till March alone, 374 of them seriously injured and 1,447 slightly injured, show data of Bulgaria's Interior Ministry.

Visitors at the event will be able to take part for free in nearly 30 different demonstrations, games, quizzes and memorable experiences. There will be a vintage car exhibition.

Youngsters will be able to have fun with simulators where they can drive in a safe environment, or see how alcohol affects driving and how difficult coordination is after its use.

Visitors will see a live demonstration of how to defuse a traffic accident and how lives are saved by cutting vehicles, as well as extinguishing a car on fire.
