Five Bulgarians arrested after a fight at a nightclub in Halkidiki, three of them are in hospital

A violent fight and shooting occurred at a well-known beach bar on the Greek island of Halkidiki in the early hours of Saturday. Three Bulgarians were reported injured.

According to Greek media, one of the men received a serious gunshot wound to the chest, while the others got stabbed or sustained injuries from physical assault. The injured were taken to a health center and later transferred to a hospital. According to doctors, the man who was shot is in an extremely critical condition. There is speculation that individuals involved in the incident may be connected to the Bulgarian mafia.

BNR's correspondent in Greece Katya Peeva reported that according to eyewitnesses, five Bulgarians got into an argument with the bar owner and beat him up. Subsequently, someone shot and wounded one of the Bulgarians. All five Bulgarians have been arrested.

The Bulgarian Consulate General in Thessaloniki has been informed about an incident involving Bulgarian citizens in Hanioti, Halkidiki, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Official information regarding the case is expected to be received from the Greek authorities.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Thessaloniki has received information from the Greek police that in the evening hours of August 16 a conflict broke out between a group of 7 Bulgarian citizens, the owner and the staff of a nightclub in the resort of Hanioti. As a result, two people were shot, and one person sustained minor injuries. The injured individuals have been hospitalized in the city of Polygyros. The Bulgarian Consulate General in Thessaloniki has also provided assistance to the relatives of the injured.
