The route of the third stage was 180 flat kilometers from Kazanlak to Burgas, and the fourth stage, which started now from Primorsko to Sliven, is 207.2 kilometers.

The final of the Tour of Bulgaria will be a 123-kilometer stage from Sliven to Gabrovo.

After the cycling tours of France, Italy and Belgium, Bulgaria's cycling tour is the fourth oldest in Europe and marks a hundred years since it was first held in 1924.

The Italian Giovanni Carboni is leading the individual time trial classification, just 1 second ahead of his compatriot Matteo Malucelli, who won the third stage of the competition. Martin Papanov from the Nessebar Cycling Club is the best Bulgarian rider so far, in 4th place in the provisional classification, 26 seconds behind the leader Carboni.
