Two people infected with West Nile Virus (WNV) in Bulgaria have died, the Ministry of Health has been confirmed for the BNR. Three persons in Bulgaria have been infected with WNV, two are from Sofia and one from Haskovo who was infected in Greece. The two persons who have died are from Sofia. The virus is transmitted by infected mosquitos. The incubation period is 3 days to 2 weeks. No specific treatment is available and there is no vaccine.
