At an extraordinary meeting, the Central Election Commission (CIC) decided to accept, in parallel, the applications for participation in the election for parliament of the supporters of the honorary chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) Ahmed Dogan and of those supporting Delyan Peevski.

The two applications will be registered at the exact same hour and they will not be given a sequence number. The decision was made with 8 votes “for” and 3 “against” with the motive that the decision is absurd. This decision gives the start to the work of the CIC for registering the political parties and coalitions wishing to take part in the upcoming election, after earlier, the two DPS camps – one affiliated with Ahmed Dogan and the other with Delyan Peevski – blocked off the building.

“We have just registered the Movement for Rights and Freedoms for participation. The participation of our political force will be in the form of a coalition of 3 parties,” Dzhevdet Chakarov from DPS affiliated with Ahmed Dogan told reporters.  “One of the parties is our own party – Movement for Rights and Freedoms. The other is SBOR (Just Bulgaria United Patriots), and the third party is Agrarian Peoples’ Union. We shall be taking part with the acronym DPS  (standing for Democracy, Rights, Freedoms) in these elections,” said Dzhevden Chakarov. He promised Euro-Atlantic orientation for a European future for Bulgaria and a better life in the country.
