A motorcycle procession in support of organ donation and transplantation passed through the streets of Sofia. Under the motto “Yes to life!”, the riders followed the route from the National Museum of History to the National Assembly building, putting an end to this year’s motorcycle season.
There are 836 patients on the organ transplant waiting list in Bulgaria – 770 of them need a new kidney, 22 – a heart, 19 – a liver and 10 – a lung transplant. One case of brain death can save up to 8 human lives by organ donation, and improve the life of up to 100 people by tissue donation.
The event was organized by the Executive Agency Medical Supervision, 36 motorcycle clubs and I Want a Baby foundation.
