A forum entitled "Career and Life - Why in Bulgaria?", organized by the Bulgaria Wants You platform, was held at the Royal Geographical Society in London on October 20. The event, which took place for the second time, attracted significant interest. Twenty-five companies set up pavilions and welcomed over 1,500 Bulgarians interested in a possible return to their homeland, said Krassimir Kiriakov, Head of Economic and Commercial Department at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in London. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in direct conversations with employers. Entrepreneurial panels were also organized.
In an interview with the BNR’s correspondent in the UK Veselin Paunov, the diplomat noted that the main idea is to showcase Bulgaria to successful young Bulgarians and familiarize them with career development opportunities. ''From a business perspective, there is a lack of personnel in more and more sectors in Bulgaria. Apart from improving education in Bulgaria, which is the main approach to solving the problem, the short-term solution is to attract already qualified staff from abroad and provide them with conditions in Bulgaria where they can thrive", said Krassimir Kiriakov.
