Slovenia sends soldiers to Bulgaria to strengthen NATO's eastern flank

Slovenian soldiers will be sent to Bulgaria, where they will be part of a combat group aimed at strengthening NATO's eastern flank, the Ministry of Defense of Slovenia reported, as cited by the regional television "N1".

The integration of the Slovenian army into the NATO battle group in Bulgaria, which, alongside the framework country Italy, regularly and periodically involves allies such as Albania, Montenegro, Greece, Croatia, Romania, North Macedonia, Turkiye and the United States, will take place in stages. The timing of deployment, the structure of the contingent, logistics and other details will be coordinated with Italy, taking into account the needs and capabilities of the Slovenian army, the statement further said.
