The Bulgarian National Radio has presented its annual journalism awards "Sirak Skitnik". The grand prize went to Tsveti Radeva, host of the folk music show "Imat li pesnite spirane" on Horizont channel.
The grand prize was presented by Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Iotova. The radio host couldn't hide her excitement that the prestigious award was given to a program dedicated to traditional culture. ''The Bulgarian folk music on this show is not just folk music. It is national psychology. It is the lifestyle and soul of our people. It is our flesh and blood. This music not only connects, but also builds a vast network of BNR listeners", said Tsveti Radeva.
The ''Radio Journalism'' award went to Georgi Yanakiev from Radio Burgas for outstanding journalistic presence.
For the second consecutive year, a product of the Digital Programmes Directorate was awarded in the "Radio Broadcast, Radio Project, Musical Project or Multimedia Project" category. This year, it was the videocast "Govori..." featuring the voices of prominent personalities kept in the BNR’s golden archives.
BNR’s correspondent in Varna Daniela Stoynova received the "Golden Voice" award of the Nadezhda Dzheneva Foundation and journalist Kevork Kevorkian.
In the category "Professionalism on the Air", the award went to Svetoslav Ivanov from bTV who hosts the current affairs program "120 Minutes".
