The University of Forestry is organizing a series of events dedicated to the century-old path of forestry education in Bulgaria. The first event is tonight, when a retrospective of forestry activities will be held with a lecture on the topic "A Look into History", the university reports.
The historical "tour" begins in 1925, when the foundations of higher forestry education were laid. There will be information about the first professor of forestry sciences and the first lecturers, students and textbooks, as well as about many more curious moments from the development of forestry in the country. For Bulgarian foresters, it is a vocation that requires deep understanding and responsibility for the sustainable management, protection and restoration of forest resources. For them, the forest is not only a natural environment, but also a cultural, economic and ecological wealth that foresters protect and develop for the benefit of future generations.
