Navigation Maritime Bulgare (Navibulgar) has announced that the sulphur-laden Vezhen, released by the Swedish authorities, will stop in Denmark for repairs and then continue its voyage to South America - Uruguay and Argentina - with minor crew changes.
"We have received a document from the Swedish prosecutor's office stating that they are releasing our vessel as there is no reason to believe that the vessel or its crew have committed sabotage or any other malicious act, which I was certain of from the beginning. The conclusion of our own initial investigation has been confirmed by the Swedish authorities," said Captain Alexander Kalchev, Executive Director of Navibulgar.

He thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "which has not lost faith in Bulgarian seafarers", and the Ministry of Transport "for their unwavering support. We are very impressed".
