During an operation by the General Directorate Combating Organized Crime on February 6, three Bulgarians were arrested for participating in an international criminal group operating on the territory of the European Union.

A statement from the Ministry of Interior states that the detainees are to be extradited in execution of a European arrest warrant issued by the Kingdom of Belgium. The information from the Ministry of Interior shows that following information submitted by the Bulgarian side, a large laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs was discovered in Bulgaria in December 2024. Laboratory equipment, precursors and notes for carrying out the chemical synthesis process were found and seized. Joint work on the case continues.
