Hristo Stoichkov has been appointed the Sports Tourism Ambassador for the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism). This became clear at an official meeting in the Council of Ministers between Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh, the UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili, and the world-famous Bulgarian footballer Hristo Stoichkov. The meeting is part of an official visit by the UN Tourism delegation at the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism.

"I am happy that today, together with UN Tourism, we have the honor to jointly announce that the UN Tourism is appointing its first ambassador for sports tourism, and he is Bulgarian. This will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the image of Bulgaria on the world tourism map", commented Miroslav Borshosh.
