The conference "The Festival and the City" will be held in Sofia on March 13 and 14, organized by the Bulgarian Festival Association (BFA) with the international participation of experts from the European Festival Association (EFA). During the forum, an analysis of the state of the festival sector in Bulgaria will be made and good European experience will be shared.

Key topics will be discussed: financing, sustainability, cultural policies and strategies for the development of artistic festivals.

The conference will be moderated by Vasil Dimitrov - Chairman of the BFA Board of Directors and President of the European Music Festival, and Svetlomira Stoyanova - Cultural Manager and President of the Liaison Committee of NGOs with UNESCO.

The program will present prestigious festivals - members of the BFA, as well as municipalities - organizers of festival events, such as Burgas, Varna and Sofia.

Among the speakers are Natália Oszkó-Jakab – director of the Valley of Arts festival (Hungary) and EFA board member, Audrey Brisack (EFA), the directors of the Polish Institute in Sofia – Iwona Jakuszko-Dudka, and of the Czech Cultural Center – Radka Rubilina.
