Police detain tourist bus driver with over 2 permille of alcohol in his blood

The police in the town of Veliko Tarnovo (Central North Bulgaria) detained a tourist bus driver with more than 2 permille of alcohol in his blood while on duty.

A tourist agency had hired a transport company from Pleven to transport its tourists to Veliko Tarnovo. When the bus was stopped for a police check, the driver was in a visibly intoxicated state, and the breathalyzer showed 2.44‰ alcohol.

The driver was detained for 24 hours. The results of his blood test are awaited and it depends on them whether the prosecutor's office will indict him and impose a 72-hour detention measure.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man was caught driving with 4.10 permille of alcohol in a residential area of Radomir. He has also been detained for up to 24 hours.
