Shumen hosts exhibition and scientific session dedicated to the Christianization of Bulgaria and creation of the Bulgarian alphabet

The initiatives dedicated to 1160 years since the Christianization of the Bulgarian people and 1170 years since the creation of the Bulgarian alphabet continue today in Shumen. 

At 10:00, Patriarch Daniil will serve a prayer service in the "Three Holy Hierarchs" church in the city, after which Vice President Iliana Iotova will open the exhibition "Alphabet and History" in the "Stiliyan Chilingirov" Regional Library. It is a joint project of the State Cultural Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the "Ivan Dujčev" Center for Slavo-Byzantine Studies at Sofia University and the "Elena and Ivan Dujčev" Foundation. The author of the exhibition is Professor Vasya Velinova. Later, in the Shumen University "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski", Iliana Iotova will open a scientific session dedicated to the anniversaries.
