Boyana Zhelyazkova's ‘Rhodope Dream’ draws inspiration from Bulgarian folklore

Boyana Zhelyazkova is an accomplished singer, violinist and guitarist. She studied the violin as a child and went on to play in a youth chamber orchestra and a rock band. She has also participated in theatre projects for which she has composed music. She has recorded solo violin pieces for the soundtracks of role-playing games and has collaborated with musicians from around the globe. She is also known for her work with the Balkan Winds, Wet Pebbles and other bands. 


The various genres she works in influence her original music, which is a blend of classical, jazz, electronic and modern sounds and even folk. This is exactly what we hear in 'Rhodope Dream', a piece based on the folk song 'Kisimliyche, Kisimdarche'.It was arranged by Boyana Zhelyazkova, Georgi Strezov and Asen Marinov.
