Trend: More than half of Bulgarians do not feel informed about the introduction of the Euro

55% of Bulgarians do not feel informed about the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria, while 41% express the opposite opinion, according to a survey by “Trend,” reported BGNES.

59% of respondents support President Rumen Radev’s initiative to hold a referendum on adopting the European currency in 2026, while 31% do not support such a referendum. 21% of respondents said that Bulgaria should adopt the euro next year, 33% of the polled said that the country should adopt the single currency in the coming years and 38% of respondents said that Bulgaria should not adopt the euro.


GERB-SDS remains the leading political force with 26.2%, followed by We Continue the Change- Democratic Bulgaria (13.8%), Vazrazhdane (13.5%), DPS–New Beginning (11.6%), BSP – United Left (6.8%), There Is Such a People (6%), MECH (5.9%), Democracy, Rights and Freedoms-DPS (5.8%) and Velichie (3.9%).

The survey, commissioned by 24 Chasa, was conducted between May 12 and 18, 2025, through direct semi-standardized face-to-face tablet interviews with 1,001 people aged 18 and over.
