An installation by Slava George won the BAZA Award for Contemporary Art 2025. The award is given to artists up to 35 years of age. The winner was announced by Prof. Barbara Stehle from the USA, who heads the jury this year.

The award is presented for the 18th time in Bulgaria by the Institute of Contemporary Art - Sofia and the Edmond Demirdjian Foundation. The prize is part of the YAVA International Network, which awards young artists from 12 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, BTA reports.

The award includes a scholarship and 8 weeks of participation in Residency Unlimited - a New York platform for helping artists build professional contacts. Until August 31, the works of the 7 finalists, selected among 48 participants in BAZA 2025, can be seen in the Sofia City Art Gallery.
