The 29th edition of the Stage at a Crossroads theatre festival is taking place in Plovdiv as of today until 21 September.

The festival programme includes 18 stagings, among them classical as well as modern works like Hamlet, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Mother Courage and Her Children. The festival will open with a charity show Without Blood by Alessandro Baricco, directed by Diana Dobreva. The money raised from the show, in which actors from Bulgaria as well as from North Macedonia perform, will be donated for building a new children’s hospital as part of the St. George university hospital in Plovdiv. The shows will be staged at the Plovdiv drama theatre at 38, Knyaz Alexander I St. There will also be an accompanying programme of events.
