The Bulgarian National Assembly will hold debates today on the fifth vote of no confidence against the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov. The vote itself is expected to take place on Thursday.
The motion for a vote of no confidence was submitted by PP-DB, APS and MECH parties for the failure of the cabinet in the "Internal Security and Justice" sector. "Velichie" and "Vazrazhdane" parties said they would support the vote.

The Zhelyazkov cabinet is supported in parliament by the coalition between GERB, BSP and ITN, as well as by DPS - New Beginning.

The first two unsuccessful votes were initiated by Vazrazhdane and MECH parties, respectively "for failure in the "Foreign Policy" sector" and for "failure in the fight against corruption". The third, which did not pass, was for failure in fiscal policy, again submitted by Vazrazhdane deputies. The fourth vote of no confidence was submitted by Velichie on the topic of Ecology, but it also failed.
