At a briefing after today's government meeting, the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov announced that the Council of Ministers had adopted a decision that would actually give start to the work for the return of compatriots who are abroad.

More than 13 million euros have been earmarked for the initiative called "I Choose Bulgaria". It is aimed primarily at Bulgarian communities abroad. "We want to really help deal with the problems of the demographic crisis in our country, which is also having an impact on the country's economy. We see that there is lack of necessary workforce in certain sectors," Gutsanov pointed out, quoted by BTA.

Starting Thursday (September 18), the Employment Agency will be accepting applications, submitted electronically, from people wishing to return to their homeland under this initiative. According to the minister, the interest in the initiative is huge.
