Prime Minister does not agree with restricting production of home-made wine and rakia

"It will definitely not happen." This was what Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov told journalists on the occasion of the new rules for the production of homemade rakia and wine published for public discussion.

"The Ministry of Agriculture and Food is once again inconsistently publishing texts that are neither previously agreed upon, nor is it clear what the policy is aiming at. It is clear that it will affect many people, but it is not clear who will benefit from this," Zhelyazkov also said and announced that yesterday he ordered minister Georgi Tahov to remove the bill from public discussion.

"This is an encroachment on the ancient way of life of the Bulgarians and this will not happen," Zhelyazkov added.

The draft bill provided for the domestic production of wine and rakia to be limited to half a ton of wine and 30 liters of rakia per family.
