Sofia will host the matches of the Bulgarian national volleyball team in the group stage of the 2026 Men's European Volleyball Championship. The decision was made by the management board of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation at an extraordinary meeting. The Bulgarian team, which became world vice-champion two weeks ago, will play in Pool B alongside the teams of North Macedonia, the European champion Poland, Portugal, Ukraine and Israel.

Initially, Varna was scheduled to host the EuroVolley 2026 matches from September 10 to 27. However, the great interest from Bulgarian fans in Bulgaria’s games led to the change, the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation announced.

Italy, Romania and Finland are the other host countries of the championship, reported BTA.
