Chairman of Supreme Court of Cassation Lozan Panov demands new constitutional amendments

At a meeting with Bulgaria’s Premier and leader of GERB Party Boyko Borissov the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Cassation Lozan Panov called the latest constitutional reforms “mimicry of reforms” and insisted that the reform should continue with new constitutional amendments linked with control over the Prosecutor’s Office. Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier for Judicial Reform Ekaterina Zaharieva and Bulgaria’s Minister of Justice Tsetska Tsacheva called on Panov to propose concrete texts related to that reform. Tsetska Tsacheva disagreed with Lozan Panov’s statement. In her view, the former amendments to the constitution should not be belittled and should not be called mimicry.
