On the occasion of World Diabetes Day - November 14, the National Association of Children and Young People with Diabetes in Bulgaria reported that the number of patients in Bulgaria are growing and becoming younger, and the prevention of the disease and access to medicines continues to be difficult. In the past one or two years, the age of diabetes patients has been dropping. The youngest registered child with diabetes is 8-months-old and patients under the age of 18 are about 2,000. There are a total of half a million people in this country, suffering from diabetes and 40% of them are unaware of their condition.
