Bulgaria marks the 182nd birth anniversary of the Bulgarian Apostle of Freedom Vasil Levski with various events. At a ceremony in front of the Bulgarian Parliament the President of the Bulgarian National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva called Levski an apostle, revival leader, saint and a measure of conscience, lawfulness and unity with God, family and fatherland. The division and alienation of today must hear the meaning and the power of Levski’s legacy, Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Yotova said in her speech and called for statehood that would guarantee the rights of the citizens. The center of the celebrations is again Levski’s native town Karlovo which already welcomed the participants in the march “In the Footsteps of the Apostle”.
