The partners from the ruling coalition in Bulgaria – GERB party and the United Patriots – are to discussat a coalition counciladditional measures in the conditions of pandemic.

The items under discussion include the option of construction work along the Bulgarian Black Sea coastline continuing up until 15 June instead of 15 May, as currently set down, as a form of support for the construction sector; initiatives for helping the tourism industry with a state subsidy; 5% VAT in the tourism industry; facilitating the issuing of visas to foreign nationals for vacationing in Bulgaria.

Lower tax rates in the tourism sector is expected to be the most controversial issue on the agenda because GERB’s position, in principle, is against the introduction of differentiated VAT rates.
