Extreme air and water competition held in Bulgaria

The competition between the best Bulgarian kite surfer and the best Bulgarian paraglider has ended earlier than expected. The start of the extreme race was at Novo Selo near the Danube River. In the "Air and Water Need Good Wings" event, the two athletes had to compete for 12 hours.

From west to east Nikola Abadjiev-Koki surfed the waters of the Danube, while Veso Ovcharov was paragliding over the Danube plain. Strong gusts of wind forced Veso to stop the race in the fourth hour, while Koki set a personal record, traveling 320 km on the river for 11.5 hours. This is also a new European record for longest kite-surfing on river. The extreme race was documented by a film crew.
