A 30-hour blockade of the border checkpoint between Bulgaria and Romania near the town of Silistra is to start today at 12 o'clock and will last until 6 o'clock on Saturday, November 21. This was announced by the chairman of the Man, Nature and Health Foundation, Dr. Nedko Belev.
This is another expression of dissatisfaction with the passage of heavy trucks through the town for more than 4 years, BNR Shumen reports.
The previous protest in Silistra was on October 27th, with the participation of all parties. Two days later, an interdepartmental Bulgarian-Romanian committee had to decide whether to launch the ferry complex near the village of Aydemir. Romanian owners of vessels across the Danube stated that they were ready for their ships to be diverted to it and to service the trucks. There is currently no information from the committee.
