Minister of Transport Hristo Alexiev dismisses Executive Director of “Maritime Administration”

Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Transport Hristo Alexiev has dismissed Zhivko Petrov, Executive Director of Maritime Administration” Executive Agency in connection with the Vera SU case. Several days ago, the cargo ship Vera SU ran aground in the vicinity of Yailata protected area. 

Captain Ventsislav Ivanov was appointed the new Executive Director of “Maritime Administration” Executive Agency. "All statements that the area near Yaylata has been heavily polluted are sabotage", said Minister Alexiev. Currently, Bulgaria’s authorities are trying to pull the stranded vessel.
