“In the past 14-day period the incidence of coronavirus in Sofia is 1,200 per 100,000 residents. One in 100 people in the capital city has been infected with Covid,” Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev, infectious diseases expert at Sofia municipality said for BNT.
“The healthcare system and the nation are facing a severe trial. On Sunday and on Monday half of the vaccine shots in the country were administered in Sofia. We are doing everything we can even though it is really very overdue. We should have vaccinated people in the summer. Those wonderful months were wasted,” Prof. Kantardzhiev said.
There are vaccines available in Sofia and people must get vaccinated. They should be very careful not to get infected while they are waiting to be vaccinated or tested, Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev added.
