Investigation launched after collapse of Hemus motorway section

An inspection has been launched of the section of Hemus motorway between Buhovtsi and Belokopitovo which is under construction, after Minister of the Interior Boyko Rashkov announced yesterday that part of the section had collapsed.

The contractor company stated that the ground was currently being reinforced as additional drainage was necessary because of the groundwater which caused the collapse. A commission of representatives of the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has been set up to look into the collapse.
