Bulgaria will work very hard to build four more new bridges over the Danube and to improve the capacity of the Asparuhov Bridge in Varna. This is what the new Minister of Transport Nikolay Sabev told 24 Chasa daily. Meetings have already been held with the regional minister to launch geological and feasibility studies for the new bridges.

Another priority will be the connection of North with South Bulgaria. Therefore, work will continue on the construction of tunnels under the Petrohan and Shipka passes, as well as a third tunnel under the Balkan Mountains in Eastern Bulgaria, Sabev added.
Work will also be done to speed up the movement of trains. By 2030, the high-speed railway corridors Ruse - Svilengrad and Vidin - Kulata should be ready.
