Burshen Airport near Sliven will become one of the six centers for Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). This is what the Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Georgi Gvozdeikov, said. The funds for the construction of the centers in Bulgaria will come under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, BNR correspondent in Sliven Stoyan Radev has reported.

Currently, Bulgaria is the only country in the EU without emergency air assistance.
