Court dismisses requests to approve searches of Borissov, Goranov and Arnaudova homes

The Sofia City Court has dismissed the requests submitted by the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office for the approval of the searches of the homes of Boyko Borissov, Sevdelina Arnaudova and Vladislav Goranov and the seizures there on Thursday last.

The requests state that the actions, for which judicial review must be exercised, are unlawful because they took place in the absence of any urgency, and were carried out by an incompetent investigating authority, the court says.

“Inasmuch as in these legal proceedings the prosecutor inherently assumes that the action taken is flawed, the request is inadmissible,” writes judge Vera Chochkova in the court ruling.
