During his visit to Spain, Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev has discussed with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez security in Europe, the suspension of supplies of Russian natural gas, as well as opportunities to build modern defence capabilities. Commenting on the gas situation, Radev noted that Spain has acted preventively over the years, receiving gas from the United States, Algeria and Nigeria today and is completely independent.

"Make a calculation - only 6% is the Russian gas that is received. With us, you know how much it is" (about 90% - editor's note), the president said.
He commented that in its decisions the Bulgarian government should be guided by the fact that the price should be as low as possible, as a large part of Bulgarian society is "on the brink" of poverty.
