This weekend, 14 and 15 May, visitors to Plovdiv will be given an opportunity to taste the produce of more than 40 wineries from all over the country, as well as of over 20 food manufacturers.

A total of 67 food and beverage manufacturers are taking part in the Wine and Gourmet Festival in 16 different locations in Plovdiv's Old Town, with visitors to the festival being able to try out things like… wine ice-cream. As usual, the experts from Plovdiv’s University of Food Technologies will also presents their gourmet skills.

The event is financed under the municipality’s annual tourist development programme; for the first time it is taking place under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, which has a stand of its own. On the sidelines of the festival there will be concerts, and lots of fun and games. The museums in Plovdiv are also offering an intriguing and diverse programme specifically for the European Night of Museums – tonight they will keep their doors open to the public until late into the night. Admission is free.
