Money diverted from Hemus motorway project was spent on building a hotel, interior minister says

There is a certain improvement in the joint work of the Interior Ministry and the prosecutor’s office, Interior Minister in the caretaker government Ivan Demerdzhev stated, and cited as an example the embezzlement investigation connected with the construction of Hemus motorway that is supposed to link Sofia and Varna.  

“Having passed through several companies (the money for the construction of Hemus – editorial note) it was spent was spent on building something entirely different from Hemus – a hotel,” the interior minister told reporters in parliament building. He stated that nine persons had been indicted in connection with Hemus motorway.
