Bulgaria and Montenegro share common values and responsibilities, President Radev says

At a joint press conference with the Bulgarian Head of State Rumen Radev, Montenegrin President Milo Đukanović said that his country was very grateful to Bulgaria for its support for Montenegro's EU membership. According to Đukanović, who is on an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of President Radev, Bulgaria and Montenegro have well-developed relations. According to President Rumen Radev, today's visit is a clear expression of the excellent dialogue between the two countries. He added that Bulgaria has always been a particularly strong supporter of Montenegro's European path.

Commenting on the war in Ukraine, both presidents condemned Russia's military actions and shared a common view that diplomatic efforts are needed to end them. In his statement, the Bulgarian president also pointed out that the two countries share not only common values, but also common responsibilities for security, prosperity and peace in the region and thanked for the participation of Montenegrin servicemen in the NATO multinational battlegroup on the territory of the country.
