Day of traditions at the National Polytechnic Museum in Sofia

A fun workshop for martenitsas and textile printing has been organized today by the National Polytechnic Museum in Sofia (on 66 Opalchenska St.)

Visitors can make their own martenitsas and also step into the role of "master basmajji". Basmadji is an old craft that involves artistic printing on textiles, using specially made wooden prints. Thanks to the basmaji, the clothing of the old Bulgarians was so colourful.

From 5:30 p.m., the concert "Mummers, Masks and Roles" will begin, organized on the very eve of the feast of Sirni Zagovezni (Cheesefare Sunday).
