Ostava band has been celebrating its birthday with a concert in the popular entertainment venue "Maimunarnika" in Sofia for over 10 years. This year the traditional event is to take place on August 30 and will feature music hits embraced by several generations, as well as songs from their latest album “Oxygen”.
Here is what Georgi Georgiev - guitarist and main author of the band‘s music - remembers about Ostava’s first concert in "Maimunarnika”:
“We decided to give a concert there for the first time on our 20th anniversary. It was so exciting. We had a really difficult time among ourselves and as a band in general. Going to the concert I saw an extremely long queue. People were waiting for tickets, it was unbelievable and it turned everything around. Then we decided to make the album “Ocean”, and so on. There are plenty of good emotions surrounding this concert. I know there are many people who like Ostava band and are waiting for the concert at the end of the summer on an outdoor stage in Sofia".
In the course of 32 two years, the boys from Ostava band have established themselves in contemporary Bulgarian music. In the beginning, they were strongly influenced by the music culture movement Britpop. They developed their own distinctive style, which helped them win a number of music awards and, above all, the love of a wide range of music fans. The song “Satellite” is the next single of the band’s new album “Oxygen”.
