The Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior Petar Todorov told BNR that he is resigning from his post. According to him, the impossibility to work in the current situation is among the reasons for his resignation. The country’s Minister of Interior Kalin Stoyanov demanded the resignation of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior after the murder of Alexei Petrov due to lack of trust and shortcomings in the organization of work and control in the Interior Ministry. Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev officially refused to dismiss Interior Ministry Secretery General Petar Todorov because, according to him, the request is "entirely political and a continuation of the full-scale purge in the institution". ""We will continue to work hard", Bulgaria's Minister of Interior said in response.
