During this school year, the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Culture is providing support to 42 Bulgarian Sunday schools in Great Britain, and a total of over 5,000 students are enrolled in them. This became clear during the visit of the Minister of Education and Science, Galin Tsokov, to the Ivan Stancioff Bulgarian school at the Embassy of Bulgaria in London. Last year, the school celebrated its 35th anniversary, the Ministry of Education and Culture announced.

"Your renaissance enthusiasm, with which you preserve and ignite the Bulgarian spirit is impressive," said the minister to the teachers and school managers. He announced that this year in the National Program "Bulgaria - Educational Routes" of the Ministry of Education and Culture there will be a separate module only for Bulgarian Sunday schools, which will allow more Bulgarian children to get to know significant places related to Bulgarian history.

Bulgarian Ambassador Marin Raykov, present at the meeting, emphasized the importance of Sunday schools abroad, which are often called upon to build children's ability to communicate with their grandparents, because otherwise the language barrier turns out to be insurmountable.
