Tonight, 27 February, Bulgarians in Australia will have the rare opportunity to hear live the music of pop legend Mimi Ivanova. The singer will take to the stage at the Five Dock RSL club in Sydney at 7pm local time. The concert marks the start of Bulgarian Culture Week - a series of cultural and entertainment events to help the Bulgarian expatriate community celebrate Bulgaria's National Day on March 3.

The celebrations are organised by the Bulgarian Cultural and Social Association Rodina Sydney. The association's main aim is to promote knowledge and understanding of Bulgarian culture and history through the organisation of social events, exhibitions and cultural forums, and to create a "healthy and united haven away from our roots".

One of Mimi Ivanova's most famous songs is Ah, Tozi Duzhd, lyrics by Bogomil Gudev, music by Atanas Kosev. The arrangement is by Razvigor Popov, who has been at Mimi Ivanova's side on stage and in life for dozens of years.
