56% of Bulgarians want their country to stay in NATO

The majority of Bulgarians (56%) say they would vote for the country to stay in NATO, according to data used in the Alliance Secretary General's annual report presented today, reported BTA. 28% of Bulgarians support leaving the alliance. 22% strongly agree with support for Ukraine, 23% somewhat agree, 16% somewhat disagree, 34% strongly disagree.

 According to 59% of Bulgarians and 61% of the rest of the citizens of NATO countries, membership in the alliance makes attack by a foreign nation less likely, the survey shows. At the end of this month, Bulgaria will mark the 20th anniversary of its NATO membership.
