The price of natural gas will rise by a bit over 8% in June, the chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, Ivan Ivanov, said.

Nearly 81% of the natural gas supplied by Bulgargaz already comes from Azerbaijan, Ivan Ivanov added. The remaining 19% needed for the month, will be purchased from the Turkish state-owned company "Botas" under very favorable conditions for the public supplier.

In June, the opening of a tender procedure for the supply of 1 million megawatt hours of liquefied natural gas through a terminal in Turkey is expected, according to the concluded agreement with Botas, Bulgargaz announced at the beginning of the month.
