European boxing champion Rami Kiwan made a successful Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The 24-year-old Bulgarian defeated Damian Durkacz (Poland) by a unanimous decision in the first round in the 71kg category.

Rami started hesitantly and the referees gave a slight advantage to his opponent who started aggressively. Gradually, the Bulgarian found his rhythm and took full control of the match. The Polish boxer received penalty points for foul play in the second and third rounds, leading to the final score of 5:0 (29:26, 29:26, 30:25, 30:25, 29:26).

In the next round, Rami Kiwan will face No 1 seed Shannan Davey (Australia).
